Contents
Per 5 mL Al hydroxide 306 mg, Mg hydroxide 110 mg, simethicone 30 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of hyperacidity associated w/ PUD, gastritis, peptic esophagitis, gastric hyperacidity, heartburn or hiatal hernia. Symptomatic alleviation of gas including post-op gas pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn ≥12 yr 1 sachet or 1-3 tsp qds.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take between meals & at bedtime.
Contraindications
Not to be taken w/ other medicine w/in 2 hr prior to administration. Not to be taken for >2 wk.
Special Precautions
Massive upper GI hemorrhage. Dose-related rebound hyperacidity. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Constipation, diarrhea.
Drug Interactions
Decreased absorption of weakly acidic drugs eg, digoxin, phenytoin, chlorpromazine, INH, chlordiazepoxide, indomethacin, Fe salts. Increased absorption of weakly basic drugs eg, pseudoephedrine, l-dopa. Decreased tetracycline bioavailability. Inhibited quinidine, amphetamines excretion. Enhanced salicylates excretion.
